Damages From South Texas Hailstorm Estimated At $1.4B

The hailstorm that hit South Texas last week has now been declared one of the most expensive in state history. According to the Insurance Council of Texas, the damages are estimated to be nearly $1.4 billion. KENS 5 talked to several residents who are still struggling to repair the damages. Resident Jorge Gaza says he didn’t have a chance to go outside to cover his car and watched the hail dent his car from inside his home. "There was really nothing you could do. The hail was so large. What it did to the car, I can’t imagine getting hit by it," Garza said.
