Does high-tech mix well with sound claims-handling? The discussion often generates more heat than light. Let's step back for some perspective. No one suggests that CyberSettle or other technological tools will or should replace good old fashioned adjusting or negotiating techniques. New technology tools are simply new options, ones that may very well fit certain types of claims situations. They complement good adjusting practices and have a rightful place in the modern-day claim person's toolbox. I'm not marketing these systems, but adjusters and companies using them have nothing to apologize for. They are not necessarily straying from the basics or deviating from sound adjusting practices by using the Internet, voice-mail or newfangled settlement techniques.
